Crystal River City Council Candidate with a focus on small-business support, family interests, community collaborations and natural resource protection
Dear Crystal River,
Since 2004, the natural beauty, the fishing, the allure of Crystal River's Old Florida charm and rich heritage captivated me, and I was hooked. After moving here from Ocala in 2014 and settling in, I began to support efforts to preserve our waters and our special character. As a Florida Native, supporting our communities' natural resources and health is key for me. I joined the Waterfront Advisory Board and then later the Planning Commission to help out with their efforts to support and manage growth. Once I saw how well Save Crystal River's efforts were working to restore the Bay, I joined them and now serve on their Executive Board. A seat on City Council will help me to support even more great causes for our wonderful City and teams of locals who are working together to improve our close-knit community. I believe we are each just one member of this great community and that it's only through teamwork and collaboration that we can truly make a difference.
My vision for Crystal River is to continue the work for preservation and livability that so many of our great community members and leaders have carried. Advancing opportunities for benefits-paying job growth, supporting small-businesses and expanding amenities and services for children and families are also essential to me for our future. As a father of five and small-business owner, my wife Sarah and I understand the importance of supporting working families' needs. Supporting educational and recreational amenities for children and families will enrich our community life overall.
From our natural beauty to our close-knit community, I firmly believe there's no better place to live and work than Crystal River. And so if elected to City Council, I'll work tirelessly to ensure our small businesses thrive, our families are supported, and our small-town heritage and natural resources are protected.
If you have any questions or ideas, please reach out to me. I look forward to hearing from you!
Sincerely,
Larry Schenavar
